Lay-on Roller Technology

Deacro’s unique optional servo actuated lay-on system provides the most sensitive and versatile lay-on control that the converting industry has to offer. As the roll diameters increase, the lay-on dovetail assembly is driven up. This technology provides a wide range of running configurations including narrow web, min gap and segmented differential lay-on system.
The standard lay-on system is pneumatically controlled. Using bi-directional air pressure control, the pneumatic lay-on system is able to adjust the air entrainment in the rewinding rolls. A single common lay-on can be used to eliminate setup, or individual rollers can be used to improve quality and deliver high slitter running speeds. Programmable control allows for up or down pressure and taper control to adjust the pressure as roll diameter increases.
Narrow Slits
This system uses individual cantilevered lay-on roller segments to provide constant nip pressure to each rewind roll – regardless of differences in finished roll diameter. This system permits individual rollers for cuts as narrow as 3/4″ (19mm) wide.
Minimum Gap
For applications where no nip pressure is preferred, the servo actuator drives up the lay-on dovetail assembly maintaining a constant fixed gap between the lay-on roller and the rewinding rolls. Minimum gap winding is commonly used for many self-wound tapes and ‘cold seal’ films, or films that require more air to be wound into the rolls.
Differential Lay-on
The segmented differential lay-on system is designed to completely eliminate lay-on setup. Individual segments are pneumatically controlled and can adjust independently to maintain nip contact. This system provides the benefits of individual rollers without setup time.
