Cantilvered Lift-Out Overview
Deacro offers an optional combination cantilevered/lift-out mandrel system that allows the flexibility of operating the slitter rewinder as either a cantilevered system (for quick setup) or a lift-out mandrel system (for handling heavy rolls and/or full web rewinds). Changing from cantilevered to the lift-out setup requires the changing of the flanged rewind sub spindle mount to the lift-out cradle block system.
Deacro manufactures both removable mandrel slitters (lift-out slitters) and cantilevered slitters. Today, many converters are opting for cantilevered systems due to the improved ergonomics and the rapid change-over times in between sets.

Cantilevered Slitter Rewinders
The cantilevered configuration eliminates the need to handle the rewind mandrels. During operation the rewind mandrels are fully supported, ensuring vibration free operation. When the rewinding operation is complete, pneumatic support arms are lowered, and operators can simply slide the finished rolls off the open end of the rewind shafts. With Deacro's pneumatic roll stripping system and roll handling device, this procedure can be full automated.
Lift-Out Slitter Rewinders
For specialized applications, such as full web rewinds, lift-out mandrel systems are often preferable in order to handle the heavy rolls. Lift-out mandrel slitters are often used with an overhead hoist to remove the finished rolls/shafts from the machine.
