Auto Knife Positioning Overview
Deacro’s auto knife positioning system allows operators to setup the slitter while the knives are being positioned. The exact positions of each knife are stored as part of the file recipe in the main Deacro controller. Operators recall new jobs at the touch of a button, and watch as the slitter automatically configures to the correct running parameters - including positioning the knives into the precise locations. This system is servo controlled and uses pneumatic male knives on a linear rail with shear rings loaded on a pneumatic knife shaft. The pneumatic shear holders feature a razor attachment option for increased flexibility and efficiency.
Automatic knife positioning is particularly effective in combination with the laser core positioning system and spacerless differential air shaft option. When combined with these two options, operators drastically eliminate time-consuming setups. Operators will never need to handle spacers, shafts, setup knives or even measure core/knife positions.
