The Future of Automated Slitting

The T610C twin-turret duplex slitter rewinder is available in rewind diameters up to 24” (610 mm). The T610C produces unmatched throughput by allowing the operator (or automated roll handling unit) to setup cores on the outer rewind mandrels during the slitter runtime. This gives the T610C turret slitter rewinder a significant advantage over standard slitters due to the reduced downtime.

A differential rewind system compensates for web gauge variation, allowing the T610C to rewind non-uniform web constructions. Differential air shafts are available to accommodate a wide range of core IDs and provide a high speed rewind roll change-up. Additional features such as outer shaft supports, extend the roll weight capacity on the rewind shafts. A programmable lay-on system can also be used as a common or individual roller configuration.

When the rewinding is complete, the T610C can automatically off-load the finished rolls onto one of many different roll handling products.

After the finished rolls have been removed, the operator simply slides new cores onto the rewind shafts to continue the slitting cycle. A set change is as simple as recalling a new file through the color touch screen. Operators never need to handle rewind tooling, handle shafts, setup knives or manually move rolls.

Improve Your Roll Quality

Deacro’s roll lock differential air shafts provide the most sensitive tension control in the converting industry. The unique spacer-less setup design eliminates the need for operators to handle tooling or to manually position core stops. To load the cores, operators simply slide them across the rewind shaft.

More on Lay-on Technology…

Another critical aspect of quality winding is precise control over lay-on pressure. Deacro offers several lay-on configurations to provide sensitive and versatile lay-on control. These configurations include bi-directional pneumatic or servo control. Modes of the servo configuration include pneumatic bi-directional, narrow web, minimum gap and segmented differential lay-on.

Auto-Cut & Transfer

The T610C uses a unique concept called ‘auto-cut & transfer’ that automatically cuts and re-tapes (transfers) the web to a new set of cores. This is accomplished by having a set front and rear rewind shafts that automatically index 180 degrees. When the winding is complete, the shafts index, or ‘turret’ forward allowing access to the finished rolls.

Downstream Processing Automation

Deacro’s unique modular system allows for additional automated procedures such as roll labeling, wrapping/bagging, weighting, palletizing, pallet handling, pallet wrapping and pallet labeling. Multiple slitters can unload rolls to a central conveyor system that moves the rolls downstream for packaging.

Save Time Setting The Rewind

Reducing slitter setup time is a necessity in today’s market. Because of this, Deacro offers a variety of quick rewind setup options with its laser core positioning system and differential air shaft technology. These features allow operators to save time during rewind setup. To locate cores, operators simply slide cores across the cantilevered shaft. After cores have been moved onto the shaft, the laser locating system automatically indicates the precise location of the core for easy, quick and accurate placement on the shafts.

Save Time Setting Knives

Deacro offers a range of automatic and manual knife setup options with its auto knife positioning system and digital knife display technology. Deacro’s auto knife positioning system allows operators to attend other areas of the slitter while the knives are automatically being positioned. For manual positioning, Deacro offers the digital knife display. This feature displays the current knife location in relation to the pre-set location. These features are designed to assist the operator during the knife setup stage of the slitter operation.

Unwind Technology

Several unwind options have been designed to integrate with Deacro’s center winders. Deacro slitters come with the option of the US1000A shaftless unwind stand, or the US1300D shaftless unwind stand. These stands are designed to facilitate efficient handling of the master roll.

The unwind base and arm sides consist of high capacity linear bearing rails which are easily maintained. Options for these unwind stands include a position regulated dancer, a “walk-over” plate, splice table, pack roller, and an AC-vector driven unwind configuration.
